Alcea Hollyhock 'Black Currant Whirl'

Growing to nearly 8 feet tall, this Hollyhock is the centerpeice of any garden. Thick, sturdy stems are loaded with huge double blooms in a rich shade of blackberry with touches of creamy highlights. This unusual deep color is an excellent contrast for pastel and white blooms and golden leaved plants such as Talinum Gold. Hardy in zones 3-9, seeds sown in fall will produce blooms the following summer. Hollyhocks prefer rich, moist soil and full sun. Pkt. 30
