Clematis purpurea NEW FOR 2008

Dramatic purple foliage emerges in early spring and remains purple until flowering begins. At this time, foliage turns green with the flowering stems remaining a deep maroon-purple. Large terminal clusters of fragrant starry white blooms open in early to mid-summer and again in late summer if pruned after the first flush of blooms. Hardy in zones 4-9 in full to part sun. Pkt. 10
