Lapageria rosea 'Chilean Bellflower'

Considered one of the worlds most beautiful vines, this native of Chile displays clusters of 4 inch long waxy bell-shaped blooms in a rich shade of rosy-red. The lovely red bells are set against an emerald green backdrop of slender, pointed leathery leaves on a 15 foot vine. Hardy to zone 10, Lapageria is a mid to late summer bloomer, with some blooms appearing in fall. Grow in moist, rich, well drained soil in part sun and a protected location. Can be grown in containers where it can be brought indoors in cooler climates. Pkt. 6
