Passiflora Incarnata Alba, hardy

The rare white variety of the maypop passion flower, this cultivar is a rapid growing, tendril climbing vine that dies down to the ground in colder climates and remains woody in warmer zones. Large, pristine white blooms have a soft, sweet fragrance and cover 10-15 foot vines in mid-summer. Emerald green, 3 lobed leaves provide a lush backdrop for the exotic looking blooms giving this variety a lovely tropical appearance. Delicious edible fruit ripens to chartreuse-yellow and can be used for drinks and desserts, with many people simply spooning sugar over the fruit and eating it fresh. Easily grown in average, well drained soil in full to part sun, incarnata is also drought tolerant. Hardy to zone 5 if planted in a protected area and mulched over. Pkt. 5
