Silybum, 'Milk Thistle' Variegated

Variegated Silybum S.marianum is a sriking, attractive foliage plant with large rosettes of flat, prickly leaves marbled with broad white veins. It bears large heads of sweet-scented, rosy purple flowers that can be eaten like artichokes. The roots of this plant are also edible, along with the leaves which can be used in salads.
