Strawberry Spinach is a relatively unknown and unusual herb that is an edible annual plant with bright red edible fruits that resemble strawberries. The triangular, toothed leaves are thinner than spinach, very nutritious, and high in vitamins C and A. Tender shoots are used raw in salads or cooked like spinach. The fruits are juicy and tasty when mature. The juice from the flowers was also used as a red dye by natives.
