

Growing to 20 feet or more, Macfadyena unguis-cati commonly known as Cat Claw vine has bright yellow trumpet-shaped blooms prominently displayed against shiny evergreen leaves. Tiny 3-pronged tendrils resembling little cat claws reach out and cling to nearly any type of trellis or surface to reach for the sun. Two inch leaves are double, with 2 leaflets per petiole on each stem. Originating from Central America, this vine enjoys warm climates and is hardy to 20 F. Pkt. 10
Sow in moist potting mix 1/4 inch deep. Keep at 68-72 F. and bright light. Transplant to 3 inch pots when 2 sets of leaves appear. Move to permanent location in full sun and well drained soil. Germinates in 2-4 weeks.
