Beautiful and impressive, this series presents frilly double flowers on compact, 8 inch tall plants with dark green foliage. This mix of colors include blue, burgundy, rose, violet, white, red, and many with white picotee edges. The velvety flowers are carried on slender stems above a rosette of large, oval, hairy leaves with scalloped edges. They will flower for about 2 months, going dormant for 2 months, and then will start growing and blooming again. Gloxinias make great house plants with an array of colorful blooms. Sow in moist potting mix but lightly cover as seeds need light to germinate. Cover with plastic wrap and keep out of direct sunlight. Keep at 72-75°F. Germinates in 14-21 days. When seedlings are 10 days old fertilize with 75-100 ppm nitrogen from a well balanced calcium nitrate based fertilizer.
