

Tall sturdy stems support 8 inch spikes in warm colors of yellow, orange and red shades amid deep green grass-like foliage. Ideal for cut flowers, Kniphofia blooms early to mid-summer in full sun and well drained soil and will reach 30-36 inches tall and wide. Often referred to as Red Hot Pokers with their vibrant colors, this plant makes a great focal point in the border and containers. Peak flowering performance begins in its second year. Sow 1/4 inch deep in moist potting mix. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4-6 weeks. Bring to 72F. and bright indirect light for germination which is variable. Pot up seedlings as they emerge into 4 inch pots.
